Niki Om (voice) and Don Soledad (guitar) honor the life of the iconic Latin American folk singer, Mercedes Sosa. Known as “the voice of the voiceless”, Sosa rose to international acclaim in the 1960’s. Her music celebrates social justice and illuminates universal truths. Sosa’s prolific career spanned nearly four decades. Join us for a concert of selections which highlight her artistic genius.

Niki Om is a gifted vocalist drawing influence from Latin, Soul, Jazz, and Fusion styles. She is inspired by the likes of Mercedes Sosa, Nina Simone, Esperanza Spalding and Chick Corea. Niki’s mellifluous expression and eclectic taste deliver a passionate and sophisticated musical experience. (my website will be live in a few weeks)

Inspired by the genius of flamenco legend, Paco de Lucia, Don Soledad cultivated his sophisticated, soulful sounds in Northern California. Soledad studied with the great Spanish flamenco maestros Mariano de Cordobá and Diego del Gastor's protege, Agustin Ríos. Don continued his studies in Andalucía, Spain - the cradle of the art of flamenco guitar - with legendary guitarist Juan Diego Mateos. Don has recorded 2 original albums (Camino de Seda 2007, Soluna 2013) and a Christmas album (December Lullaby, 2014).

Niki Om - vocals; Don Soledad - guitar; Chuck Archard - bass and Ito Colon - percussion
